Designing for the Final Frontier
In this special TDF session, we welcome Anshu Toppo and A Sara, two remarkable young designers and graduates of NID Ahmedabad, whose work blends curiosity, complexity, and cosmic ambition.
About Anshu Toppo
Bangalore, India
Anshu, born and raised in Ranchi, Jharkhand, brings a rich portfolio of experience across industries – from special needs to space technology – crafting meaningful physical and digital solutions. Alongside his design practice, he carries real-world acumen from the HORECA sector, grounding his creative approach in both empathy and pragmatism.
About A. Sara
product designer
Equitables Technologies
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Sara, currently working at a health-tech startup in Malaysia, channels her fascination with patterns and systems into her design and storytelling. Whether it’s the fractal logic of nature or the messy process of understanding, she believes that drawing, writing, and deep listening are keys to navigating complex worlds.
Together, Anshu and Sara will present a project close to the stars – a six-week collaboration with the Human Space Flight Centre (HSFC), ISRO, where they worked alongside engineers and astronauts to design the physical user interface for the Gaganyaan crew module — India’s first human spaceflight mission. This talk explores how design meets precision, and how imagination meets gravity, quite literally.
