Tom Murmu from Dumka Jharkhand, is an influential singer & composer of this generation. He is best known for taking his Santhali music and presenting it around the world with a contemporary, global and modern sound while keeping his tribal roots alive in the hearts of thousands of people. From the colourful “Panchis”, a take on their cultural heritage, to their rooted and earthy sound, he has become a stellar example of modern Jharkhand.
He is the only Tribal Artist from Jharkhand to be featured in leading journalistic publishers Brut India and The Caravan. His collaboration with Tata Steel, My. Gov India, Dwijing Festival, Sohrai Jatra over the years are commendable.
Having performed for more than 50,000+ people across the country and shared stages with Optable names like Dhvani Bhanushali, he was also among the winners of YouTube India’s NextUp for Artists 2019.
